Joe Ray Sharp age 92 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, August 1, 2025 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mr. Sharp was born on March 23, 1933 in Galax, Virginia to Conley William and Sylvia Delp Sharp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Dean, Irene, Mildred and Wayne and the mother of his children, Elizabeth Watson Sharp.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Shannon and Jeff Rutig of Draper, Virginia; sons Michael Sharp of Meadow Bridge, West Virginia; Patrick Sharp of Woodlawn, Virginia; three grandchildren Jeb Sharp; Bobby Sharp and Sam Sharp; one great-granddaughter Gwendolyn Elizabeth Sharp; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church in Hillsville, Virginia with Pastor Zeb Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Fancy Gap, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the First Baptist Church.
