Joe Vance Ring age 71 of Dobson, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, February 5,2008 in Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Ring was born on August 28, 1936 in Carroll County, Va. to Joe & Lucy Jennings Ring. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Burnett Ring of Dobson, N.C.; daughters & sons-in-law Sharon & Barry Martin; Brenda & Randy Lineberry; Lisa Ring & James Hodges all of Mt. Airy, N.C.; Kathy & James McFarland, Jr. of Hillsville, Va.; sisters & brothers-in-law Betty & Bill Williams; Gaynell & Bill Dillon all of Galax, Va.; two grandchildren Wendy Pickett & Wesley Pickett; one step-grandchild Matthew McFarland; three great-grandchildren Andrew Semones, Abigail Harden & Aliyah Pickett; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 8, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Coulson Church of the Brethren with Pastor Russell Payne & Rev. Wallace Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
