Joe Fred Poe age 84 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Poe was born in Grayson County, Virginia on December 6, 1935 to Graham and Myrtle Bedwell Poe In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Bobby Eugene Poe (Bep).

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law David and Ann Poe; Jeff Poe and Connie Lamb all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Cody and Meridyth Poe of Georgia; Savannah and Zane Eaton of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; great-granddaughter Madison Lucy Poe; brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Wilma Poe of Galax, Virginia; one niece and several nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Oakland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church Outreach Fund, 4987 Pipers Gap Road, Galax, Virginia 24333.
