Joe Blake Gillespie's Obituary
Joe Blake Gillespie age 82 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Gillespie was born on September 6, 1928 in Galax, Virginia to Henry and Jennie Allen Gillespie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Mona Lisa Sizemore and brothers Carroll, Johnny and Dewitt Gillespie.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Mark Anthony and Darlene Gillespie of Galax, Virginia; Joe Michael and Sandra Gillespie of Woodlawn, Virginia; sister Marie Haga of Galax, Virginia; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, January 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Garry Adams and Rev. Rodney Christman officiating. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Military Rites will be conducted by Hillsville VFW Post 1115.
