Joe Jackson Gambill age 56 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at his home.

Joe was born in Alleghany County, North Carolina on July 30, 1968 to Kenneth and Jennie Gambill Maxwell. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter Naomi McKinney.

He is survived by his father Kenneth Maxwell of Oxford, Maryland; children Tishera Tucker of Hillsville, Virginia; Latasha Cottrell of Galax, Virginia; Shakyia Gambill of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Vania Tucker of Galax, Virginia; Amiyah Simmons of Roanoke, Virginia; Leigha Adkins of Richlands, Virginia; Joe Cottrell of Galax, Virginia; Jamarion Gambill of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; step-son Sedrick Simmons of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sister Cheryl Maxwell of Oxford, Maryland; brother Sylvester Jackson (Stephanie) of Galax, Virginia; special aunt and uncle Mable and Steve Bryson; seven grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery in Sparta, North Carolina. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the church.
