Joe Davis age 71 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 25,2009 in Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Davis was born in Galax, Va. on August 24,1937 in Galax, Va. to John K. & Americas Carpenter Davis. He is survived by his wife Patty Davis of Galax, Va.; daughters & sons-in-law Kim & David Stamper of Galax,Va.; Angie & Mike Lineberry of Galax, Va.; Deanna & Mike Ivester of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Julie & James Woodruff of Glade Valley, N.C.; Gina Carico of Galax, Va.; sons & daughters-in-law Joey & Shonda Davis of Galax, Va.; Todd & Cindy Davis of Low Gap, N.C.; Travis Carico of Galax, Va.; sisters Betty Davis & Judy Hackler both of Galax,Va.; brother & sister-in-law John K. "Buddy" & Pedie Davis of Galax, Va.; twelve grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 12:00 o'clock noon at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
