Joannn Bottomley Ayers age 89 of New London, North Carolina passed away Friday October 28, 2022 in the Trinity Place Skilled Nursing Home.

Mrs. Ayers was born in Galax, Virginia on January 23, 1933 to Fred and Willie Rose Bowman Bottomley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Ayers.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Steve Fayne of New London, North Carolina; grandson Stevie Fayne and Melissa Bostic; three great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law Wannie and Virgil Donithan; Maggie Bottomley; brothers and sisters-in-law Don and Emma Weatherman; Johnny and Sandy Weatherman all of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ with Marvin Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Leonard Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ.
