Joan Elizabeth Fender Wilson age 76 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at her home.

Joan was born in Galax, Virginia on August 23, 1944 to Troy and Carene Pearl Anders Fender. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Donald Rosenbaum; siblings and spouse Julian Fender; Imogean McCraw; Clema Louise and Terry Ring; brother-in-law Carl Smythers.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Allen and Kim Rosenbaum of Galax, Virginia; one grandson Justin Lee Rosenbaum of Galax, Virginia; siblings and spouse Janie Smythers of Glade Valley, North Carolina; Jerry and Judy Fender of Woodlawn, Virginia; Janet and Dallas Hill; Joyce and Robin Hill all of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law Betty Fender of Elon, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Holder officiating.
