Jo Carico Melton age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday April 6, 2021 in the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, North Carolina.

Mrs. Melton was born on June 16, 1935 to Charlie Madison and Bessie Erma Dickerson Carico. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bryam Gray Melton.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey and Sabrena Melton of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Jerry and Pam Melton of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Tyler Melton, Eli Melton, Bethany Melton and Tanner Melton; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Michael Senter and the Rev. Wayne Marion officiating. Burial will follow in the Crooked Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
