Jimmy Tyler Lankford age 79 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025 at his home.

Jimmy was born on December 28, 1945 in Huntsville, Alabama to George and Laverna Raines Lankford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife Wilma Jean Akers Lankford of Woodlawn, Virginia; children and spouses Melinda and Markus Ballard of Barren Springs, Virginia; Jimmy Wayne and Cathy Lankford of Alabama; Clayton Eddie Lankford; Elizabeth Lankford both of North Carolina; Kathy Kourakis of New Mexico;  sister Edna Chapman of Colonial Heights, Virginia; brother James Lankford of Alabama; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2:30 PM in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Pastor David Spivey officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
