Jimmy Lawrence Cockerham age 54 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Galax, Virginia.
Jimmy was born on March 26, 1957 in Roanoke, Virginia to Milo and Rubye Combs Cockerham.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Jackie Cockerham of Galax, Virginia; children and future son-in-law Rachel Cockerham of Bristol, Tennessee; Emily Cockerham and Zachary Lee of Bristol, Virginia; Milo Cockerham of Boone, North Carolina; mother Rubye Combs Cockerham of Galax, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Susan and Joe White of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Danny and Carolyn Cockerham; Randy and LeeAnn Cockerham all of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; special friends Peggy Calfee and Margaret Ballard; grand dogs Tobias and Roxy.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Gregory, Verl Brown, Chris Luper and C.C. Kurtz, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 445, Galax, Virginia 24333. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church.
