Jimmy Ray Boyer's Obituary
Jimmy Ray Boyer age 69 of Mt. Airy, North Carolina passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.
Jimmy was born in Radford, Virginia on February 25, 1942 to James Woodrow and Reva Jeanette Tolliver Boyer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Barbara B. Adams and a brother Clayton M. Boyer.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tonja and James Donald Koger of Galax, Virginia; step-children and spouse James Donald Koger, Jr. & Delesha; Amber Shaw; grandchildren Alek Kirby Caudle Barbour; Tyrus Harlie Barbour; Cassidy Paige Koger; sisters Janie Collier of Roanoke, Virginia; Joyce Phillips and Katherine Harris both of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Gregory and Rev. Ernie Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time for the memorial service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either the First United Methodist Church in Galax or the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.
