Jimmy Charles Bates age 60 of Elliston, Virginia passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 at his home. Jimmy was born in Carroll County, Va. on August 10, 1947 to Lonnie & Bessie Cox Bates. He is survived by a sister & brother-in-law Gertrude & Chuck Williston of Baltimore, Maryland; brother & sister-in-law John Franklin & Lisa Bates of Roanoke, Va.; several nieces & nephews; host of loving friends at Salem Frame. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 15,2008 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Cas Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery at Fries, Va.. The family will receive friends Friday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
