Jimmy Ballard age 83 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Ballard was born on October 11, 1927 in Galax, Virginia to Charles Witherow and Emma Ella Ziegler Ballard.
He is survived by his wife Margaret C. Ballard of Galax, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Nan Ballard and Joseph Northcut of Wake Forest, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Mary Jane Ballard of Galax, Virginia; granddaughters Margaret Northcut; Laura Jane Griffeth; Emma Ballard and Shea Northcut; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Bartlett and Rev. Robert S. Dendy officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the First Baptist Church in honor of Jimmy.
