Jimmie Lewis Sawyers age 61 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday January 11, 2007 in North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Jimmie was born on December 10, 1945 to the late William Walker & Susan Smith Sawyers. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Duncan of Mt. Airy, N.C.; son & daughter-in-law Timothy & Tammy Sawyers of Galax, Va.; sisters Louise Jones of Pinnacle, N.C.; Josephine Larry of New York, New York; Lealur Reddiek of Mt. Airy, N.C.; Geneva Reyes of Galax, Va.; brothers & sister-in-law Leroy Sawyers, Sherman Sawyers, Johnny Sawyers all of Galax, Va.; Robert Sawyers; Walter Lee & Doris Sawyers all of Mt. Airy, N.C.; five grandchildren; a host of special nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Elder Juanita Brown and Rev. Raymond Brown, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
