Minister Jimmie Ray Canup age 87 of Austinville, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 8, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Canup was born on August 19, 1936 in Salisbury, North Carolina to Henry Albert and Ethel Alberta Linker Canup. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lois Bartlett Canup and two sisters Alice Faye Overcash and Lois Pickler.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Lanita Canup of Austinville, Virginia; James Kevin Canup of Arizona; Tim and Cindy Canup of West Jefferson, North Carolina; daughters and sons-in-law Joanne and Mark Bass of Vermillion, Ohio; Sharon and Steve Norris of Glasgow, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

At his request, he was cremated. A Celebration of Jimmie's life will be held at a later date.
