Jim Harmon age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mr. Harmon was born in Carroll County, Virginia on February 4, 1940 to Gleaves and Bertie Farmer Harmon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Gooch Harmon.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Harmon; daughter and son-in-law Lynette and Allen Caldwell all of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Mary Geraldine (W.D.) Uden of Pensacola, Florida; Linda H. Bobbitt of Woodlawn, Virginia; Anita and Harry King of Gulf Shores, Alabama; grandchildren and spouses Ariel and Zack; Abbie and Weston; great-grandchildren Arizona; Zane; Alexis and Conner; several nieces and nephews; special friend Richard Felts.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Guy Russell, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, North Carolina 27017. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Oldtown Lodge #68.
