Jessie Lee Shumate age 68 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday November 12, 2022 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Jessie was born on August 20, 1954  in Sparta, North Carolina to Paul and Nancy Billings Shumate.

He is survived by his wife Pam Shumate of Galax, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Wanda and Tony Sharp of Galax, Virginia; Bill and Rachel Shumate of Todd, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Holder officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. There will be no visitation.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the Mt. Valley Hospice for the love and care they gave Jessie.
