Jessie James (Baker) Gravely age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Gravely was born on October 26, 1935 in Austinville, Virginia to Jessie and Maggie Viars Gravely. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Gravely.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Joy and Eddie Edwards of Ennice, North Carolina; Kathy and Danny Cox of Hillsville, Virginia; Kim and Joseph Burcham of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Tony and Tammy Gravely of Galax, Virginia; eight grandchildren Tina Vaughn, Andrew Edwards, Taylor Edwards, Lindsey Utt, Megan Jennings, Ryan Gravely, Jacob Gravely and Noah Burcham; great-grandchildren Chloe Vaughn and Vince Edwards; brother Lathan Gravely of Pulaski, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 4:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Harold Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
