Jessie C. Amburn age 92 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Golden Living Center.
Mrs. Amburn was born on November 11, 1918 in Carroll County, Virginia to Charlie and Bessie Dickerson Carico. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Cosmo B. Amburn.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Danna and Arlos Bryant of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Phillis and Duane Kirby; Charles and Susie Ward; Harvey and Jill Ward; great-grandchildren and spouses Kari and Will Strickland; Justin and Krista Ward; Jessica Ward; Kris and Mary Lynne Ward; Amanda Kirby; great-great-grandchild Braeden Hunter Ward; sister Jo Melton of Galax, Virginia; brothers Warren Carico and Berlie Carico both of Galax, Virginia.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Dewey Felts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from ten until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
