Jerry Wayne Vaughan age 79 of Fries, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in the Forsyth Medical Center.

Jerry was born on March 2, 1947 in Carroll County, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Lucille Vaughan and brother Jack Vaughan.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Dickson Vaughan of Fries, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Loura and Jerry Evans of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Jason and April Vaughan of  Hillsville, Virginia; six grandchildren Cole Evans; Jeramy Evans (Katie);Tonya Jordan (Joe); Kelsey Ceritano (Gabe); Bradley Vaughan; Preston Vaughan ; eight great-grandchildren Layton Evans; Desmond Jordan; Ellie Jordan; Devon Jordan; Esme Jordan; Jackson Jordan; Cooper Ceritano; Gianna Ceritano; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church at Fries, Virginia with Pastor Bobbie Dunford and Pastor Bill Denton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church.
