Jerry Darnell Sawyers age 45 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007 in Durham, N.C.. Jerry was born on October 3, 1961 in Patrick County, Va. to Wilbert & Geneva Sawyers Simmons. He is survived by his daughters Lorraine Sawyers of Dobson, N.C.; Lora Sawyers of Galax, Va.; son Jerome Sawyers of Galax, Va.; mother Geneva Sawyers Reyes of Galax, Va.; sister Teresa Knox of Galax, Va.; brothers Donald Sawyers of Cumberland, Maryland; Jeffery Sawyers of Ararat, Va.; one grandson; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 11, 2007 at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Reginald Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
