Jerry Wayne McCormick, age 73, of Fries, Virginia passed away Saturday May 8, 2021 in Twin County Regional Hospital.

Jerry was born in Grayson County, Virginia on August 16, 1947 to James and Gladys Byrd McCormick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Patty Ann McCormick; daughter Kim McCormick Redd; sister Sally Crews, and brother Bob McCormick.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Jennings McCormick of Fries; daughter Traci McCormick of Midlothian, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Jeremy and Kristi McCormick of Independence; son-in-law Tony Redd; grandchildren Lana Redd, Darien and Ethan Hash, Madison and Jared Hash, Braedyn McCormick, Gannon McCormick, Addie McCormick, McKenna Burcham, Caiden Hawks; great-grandchildren Kenslee Hash, Ayla Hash, Kiser Hash, and Noella Hash. Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law Jim and Ann McCormick of Galax, Tom and Linda McCormick of Lexington, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law Mildred and June Swink; several nieces and nephews; special friends Billy and Amanda Shore; and many other special friends.

His most special friends will be servicing as pall bearers: Terry McCormick, Robbie McCormick, Darrell Stallard, Allen Miller, Melvin Dooley, Harry Boyles, Ed Goodson, Jim Byrd, Tim Mundy, and Verlin Goad.

The graveside service will be held Tuesday May 11, 2021 at 3:00PM in Fries Cemetery with Tim Utt officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1:00 PM until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fries Cemetery.

The family expresses a special thank you to the Blue Ridge Home Health, Dr. Osei Bonsu and Dr. Andrew Michael Namen for the love and care they gave Jerry.
