Jerry Alan Martin better known as Alan Martin age 69 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Alan was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 24, 1948 to Lawrence Clayton and Iva Lee Stanley Martin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Kay Leonard and son Michael Steven Crouse.

He proudly served his country in the US Air Force.

He is survived by his wife Joan Martin of Fries, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Rick Isom of Mooresville, North Carolina; sons Christopher Martin of Hillsville, Virginia; Mark and Kimberly Crouse of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandchildren Courtney; Sydney; Mathew; Cadyn and Gavin; great-grandchildren Ashton and Kylah; sisters and brother-in-law Lori and Frank Hawks of Fries, Virginia; Jan Martin Mathena of Princeton, West Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Eddie and Mary Ellen Martin of Harrisonburg, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Darrell Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
