Jerry Allen Goad, 66 years old, of Mebane, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Hospice Home in Burlington, NC on September 9, 2022. Jerry was born in Galax, Virginia to William Roy Goad and Blenda Davis Goad (now Garland) in June of 1956. Jerry was the eldest of his brothers, Ricky Goad and Timmy Goad.

Jerry graduated from Galax High School and earned his associate degree at Wytheville Community College where he studied drafting and mechanical design. Shortly after graduation, Jerry married Pattie June Goad nee Wade (now Hebert) of Pittsboro, NC. Jerry and Pattie raised two loving children, and they shared happy memories together. Jerry had a fulfilling career, and after 32 years of service with Proctor & Gamble in Greensboro, NC, he retired in 2011. Jerry enjoyed fishing, playing golf, picking his guitar, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, and driving nice vehicles.

Jerry moved to Hillsville, VA after retirement, but he had recently moved back to NC to be closer to his children. Jerry is survived by his loving mother Blenda Garland nee Davis of Galax, VA, and his loyal brother Timmy Goad (Sharon) of Hillsville, VA; his devoted children, Amanda "Mandy" Goad Vivelo (Dominic) of Liberty, NC and Jacob Allen Goad (Kelly) of Durham, NC; his cherished little grandson, Caleb Wade Vivelo, his grandson Cody Anthony Vivelo of Kernersville, and his nieces Hannah Ayers (Cody) of Hillsville, VA, Kandace Moran (Matt) of King, NC and Terah Starbuck (Travis) of Charlotte, NC. Jerry was especially fond of his uncle Gary Davis (Cheryl) of Galax, VA, and he is survived by a large extended family. Jerry was preceded in death by his father William Roy Goad, his brother Ricky Edward Goad, and his nephew Justin Andrew Goad.

Visitation will be held at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home located at 201 W. Center Street, Galax, VA on Tuesday September 13, 2022 from 6-8 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at Camp Zion Church on Wednesday September 14, 2022 at 11 a.m.
