Jean Reavis Jones' Obituary
Jean Reavis Jones, age 80, of Galax, VA, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, VA.
Jean was born in West Galax, August 24, 1933 to Bruce & Ola Reavis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burley Dale Jones; brothers, William Reavis and Edward Reavis; sisters, Georgia Rhudy and Blanche Rector.
She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Beverly and Perry Burcham, Woodlawn, VA; sisters, Betty Mae Delp and Cora Bell Diamond, Galax, VA; Vera Edmonds, Woodlawn, VA; brothers, Hardin Reavis, Galax, VA and Warren Reavis, Woodlawn, VA. Several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces & nephews, also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. A private, family interment will follow later Wednesday, Aug. 28,2013 at the Crooked Creek Cemetery, Woodlawn, VA. Officiating minister will be Pastor Jimmy Harmon.
Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to Bishops Chapel Church Building Fund, Pipers Gap Rescue Squad or to the Crooked Creek Cemetery Fund.
