Jay Carr age  53 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday May 25, 2021 in the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.

Jay was born in Galax, Virginia on November 16, 1967 to James Dean Carr, Jr. and Ruth Ann Leonard Carr.

In addition to his father J.D. Carr, he is survived by two daughters Shannon Carr and Shelby Carr; one son Jayson Carr; sister and brother-in-law Paula and Donnie Melton all of Galax, Virginia; one grandson Carson Hall; aunt and uncle Pat and Chipper Thornton of Greensboro, North Carolina; two nieces Paige Melton and Tiffany Melton.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Galax Volunteer Fire Department.
