Obituary

Jason David Ratliff age 39 of King, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Jason was born on May 8, 1977 in High Point, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Alvin G Ratliff, Sr. in 1991.

Jason was a hard worker and was also a handyman. He was a good provider for his family, a good father, an excellent husband, was very handsome, intelligent, polite, caring, sweet and loving. He had a great sense of humor and could make anybody laugh. He was a very peaceful and laid back easy going kind of man. He loved nature and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an awesome cook and taught his sons a lot about survival.

Jason had made many accomplishments in his life. He was also a good friend. He was a leader with the Boy Scouts, manager at Sams Club which lead to him owning his own store. Jason was successful and accomplished in all aspects of life and family.

He is survived by his wife Dawn Bowling Ratliff; sons Elijah Ratliff and Matthew Conner Ratliff all of King, North Carolina; mother and step-father Debora and Jack Houseright of Tennessee; father and fiancé Donald Bowling and Amanda Kitts of Max Meadows, Virginia; sister Martha McMurray; brother Keith McMurray both of Kentucky; grandmothers Betty Ratliff of Tennessee; Juanita Bowling of Max Meadows, Virginia; sisters-in-law and spouse Jolene and Michael Hess; Juanita Bowling all of Tennessee; aunts and uncle Rhonda Caviness of North Carolina; Beverly and Melvin Houseright of Tennessee; uncle and aunt Alvin G. and Carol Ratliff of Tennessee; special brothers Mike Smith; Kevin Bloomer; Adam Hillman; Brad Ellis and Dwight "Bubba" Smith; special friends David and Janet Parks.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2017 at 5:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. It was Jason's request for his body to be cremated after the funeral service.
