Janie Mae Hamby age 46 of Independence, Virginia passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Independence, Virginia.
Janie was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on July 29, 1966 to John Locke and Janie Mae Morton Hamby. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her grandparents.
She is survived by her mother Janie Mae Hamby of Independence, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Janet and Harold Williams of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law Jerry and Sonya Hamby of Elkins, West Virginia; John Hamby of Independence, Virginia; two nieces and six nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Holder and Rev. Bob Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
