Janice Madlene Underwood age 71 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Janice was born on January 1, 1947 in Galax, Virginia to Garnett Z. and Goldie Rebecca Melton Lineberry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Harmon and two brothers Haywood Lineberry and Jess Lineberry.

She is survived by her husband Arthur (Jerry) Underwood of Fries, Virginia; children and spouses Bill and Tammy Edwards of Woodlawn, Virginia; Teresa and Peter Judd of Stafford, Virginia; Gary and Lisa Edwards of Galax, Virginia;  Kenneth Edwards and fiance' Chelsey Lowe of Galax, Virginia; Lisa Sizemore and fiancé' Richie Grubb of Woodlawn, Virginia; Karen and Stacy Osborne of Independence, Virginia; Kevin and Angela Underwood of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Celene  Bolen of Hillsville, Virginia; Ila Marshall of Hillsville, Virginia;  Florida Mae Lundy of  Thomasville, North Carolina; Faye and Rennie Sullivan of  Barnesville, Georgia; brothers and sisters-in-law Garnett Junior and Mary Ruth Lineberry; Joe and Wanda Lineberry all of Woodlawn, Virginia;  twenty-five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Leonard Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Melton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Fries Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 9, Fries Virginia 24330 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
