Janice Ruth Pierce Jones age 78 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Janice was born in Galax, Virginia on April 3, 1948 to William Cone and Ruby Lee Murray Pierce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings and spouses Billy and Lois Pierce; Kenneth Pierce; Peggy and Donald Lineberry.
She is survived by her husband John Jones; daughter Cassandra Snavely; son William Jones, Jr.; sister-in-law Phyllis Pierce all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Levi Snavely (Libby Burris); Alexia Snavely (Caden Friis); Pierce Snavely; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ty Harrison and Pastor Aaron Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
