Mrs. Janet Elizabeth Patton Hackler, age 81, of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday September 14, 2024. Janet was born in Galax, Virginia on June 10, 1943, to James Bolen Patton, Sr. and Blanche Jennings Patton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald G. Hackler; sister Virginia Andrews; and brother James Bolen Patton, Jr.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Kim and Jay Phipps of Independence, Virginia; granddaughter Megan Phipps of Galax, Virginia; grandson and spouse Brett and McKenna Phipps of Woodlawn, Virginia; and two great-grandchildren Jaylee Kyle and Brooks Phipps, both of Galax, Virginia. Also surviving are sisters Celene Shumate and Barbara Kyle, both of Galax, Virginia; sisters-in-law and spouse Phyllis and David Wright, and Judy Hacker; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Friday September 20, 2024 at 11:00am, in Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home's Chapel with Rev. Darin Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of the service on Friday at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
