Jane Ella Haga Stoneman age 76 of Vinton, Virginia and formerly of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday, April 24,2009 at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after declining health.

She was born October 16, 1932, in Fries, Virginia to John Daniel and Myrtle Belle Shupe Haga.

She started her career in banking at the Bank of Fries before graduation. She was the first female loan officer at the bank. After she moved to Vinton, she continued working in banking until her retirement in 1994, from Bank of America.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Mori Eugene Stoneman; a brother Osco (Buck) and Lena Haga, two sisters and brothers-in-law; Ola (Baldy) Hawks, Gladese (Buddy) Richards.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, James & Ina Haga of Fries, Vairginia. Survivors also include two nieces Teresa Fortner, Linda Croy; two nephews James Haga, Jr. and John Richards; one great niece Kirsta Wile; special friends Kitty & Fred Harris of Roanoke, Va..

The funeral service will be held Monday, April 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. Vicki Neese officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from seven until nine at Providence United Methodist Church.
