Jane Giersch Mccarter's Obituary
Jane Giersch McCarter age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. McCarter was born on October 22, 1921 in Tennessee to Warren B. and Minnie Houseman Giersch.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Van B. McCarter of Galax, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law Dr. Van & Janet McCarter of Roanoke, Va.; Dr. Jeff & Audrey McCarter of Farmville, Va.; Robert & Pamela McCarter of Charlotte, N.C.; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend Dena Isom.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Walt Simmerman officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from one until service time at the First United Methodist Church.
