James Vernon Young known as Jamey Young age 51 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home.

Jamey was born on January 23, 1972 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to James Lester and Darlene Wert Young.

In addition to his parents James and Darlene Young, he is survived by his wife Tamara Jones Young; daughter Maya Young all of Galax, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Becky and Kirk Spicer of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law Jesse and Tammy Young of Scottsburg, Virginia; Joseph and Lori Young of Meadows of Dan, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Bobbie Jones of Galax, Virginia.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Jesse Young and Pastor Joseph Young officiating. Burial will follow in the River Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
