James Edward "Wormy" Swain, age 69, of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born July 4, 1950 in Galax, Virginia to the late George Swain and Stella Cleo Haga.

Mr. Swain proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Crystal Adams and Richard of Galax; grandson Kase Adams; sisters Judy Smith and Donald Lundy ; Kathy Sue Swain all of Galax; brothers and sister-in-law: Gary and Rebecca Swain of Columbia, South Carolina; Kenneth Swain of Galax, Virginia; Crystal's mother Debbie Swain of Mount Airy, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews and special canine companion Boy.

The funeral service will be held Friday, July 5, 2019 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 7:00 PM with Brother David Holderfield officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until service time.
