James Marion Wilson age 87 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday evening in the Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Wilson was born in Grayson County, Virginia on April 2, 1933 to William Austin and Alma Phipps Wilson.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Eddie G. and Cindy Wilson of Galax, Virginia; two sisters Frances Anders of Fries, Virginia; Violet Dalton of Galax, Virginia; five brothers Ray Wilson; Lewis Wilson; Doc Wilson all of Fries, Virginia; Lacey Wilson of Marion, Virginia; Harley Wilson of Galax, Virginia;  six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a special niece Bo Thomas and a special great-niece Brittany Grimes.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Fries Cemetery with the Rev. James Cowley officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
