James Arthur Thomas' Obituary
James Arthur Thomas, 96, of Skyline Highway, Galax, passed away Wednesday, December 12 at the Golden Living /Blue Ridge Nursing Home/Rehabilitation Center in Galax. Mr. Thomas was born October 24, 1911 in Grayson County, Virginia to Reid Fleming Thomas and Lula Gertrude Funk Thomas.
He is survived by his wife Helen D. Thomas of the home, a son & daughter-in-law Don & Judith B. Thomas of Collinsville, Virginia; three grandchildren: Suzanne Woolwine, Blake F. Thomas, and Natalie B. Lawrence; and three great grandchildren: Kelsey Woolwine, Ryan Woolwine, and Casey B. Thomas.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 14 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Vale United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Lindamood officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
