James G. Stoneman, age 62, of Galax, VA, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Stoneman was born Feb. 12, 1949 in Grayson County, VA to Grady & Hattie Brannock Stoneman.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Stoneman; son & daughter-in-law, Tony & Mandy Stoneman, Roanoke, VA; sisters & brother-in-law, Paula Burcham and Peggy & Perry Burcham, both of Galax; brothers & sisters-in-law, K.G. & Parthena Stoneman, Woodlawn, VA and Jerry & Dorothy Stoneman, Galax; special niece, Maureen Wiseley.

Funeral service will be held Monday, March 21, 2011 at 8:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA. Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in the Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until time for the service Monday at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Ernie Smith, Danny Smith and the Rev. Andy Edmonds. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Carilion Hospice, 707 Randolph St., Suite 251, Radford, VA 24141 or the Snow Hill Baptist Church.
