James Kenneth Savage age 71 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

James was born in Carroll County, Virginia on April 26, 1949 to Wayne and Ila Mae Ring Savage. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Louise Jewel Savge; and two brothers Danny Savage and David Savage.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy and Army Reserves.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Savage of Galax, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Tina Louise Savage of Galax, Virginia; Sharon Ann Carrico and Charles William Carrico, Jr. of Fries, Virginia; sister Joyce Collins of Carroll County, Virginia; four grandchildren Noah Daniel Newman; Alexis Ryann Hale; Hallie Shea Newman; Lincoln Jefferson Savage and two nieces.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 1:00 PM in the Coal Creek Cemetery with Pastor Randy Bledsoe officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, North Carolina 27017.

James was a Christian man and loved God. He showed his passion to God through the instruments he crafted and played.
