James Samuel "Sam" Blevins age 55 of Galax, Va. passed away Friday, February 23, 2007 at Twin County Regional Hospital. He was born in Smyth County, Va. on May 21, 1951 to the late Marion J. & Ethel Dolinger Blevins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Marvin Carroll Blevins; sister-in-law Kathy Blevins and a brother-in-law Timothy Brown. He is survived by his wife Jane L. Blevins; daughters Samantha Jane Blevins; Stephanie Lynn Blevins all of Galax, Va.; sisters & brother-in-law Virginia Dare & Emmett William Rush of Piney Flats, Tn.; Mary Ruth Brown of Fieldale, Va.; brothers & sister-in-law David Daniel & Peggy Blevins; Johnithan Lynn Blevins all of Marion, Va.; several nieces & nephews also survive. The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 3:30 PM at the First Baptist Church with Rev. James Cowley and Delegate Bill Carrico officiating. Burial will be Monday, February 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Roselawn Cemetery in Marion, Va.. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 3:30 PM at the First Baptist Church. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
