James Robert Leonard, 82, of Morristown, TN, formerly of Fries, Virginia died at his home after a long battle with COPD.

James is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Mabel Leonard and sister Ruth Ann Carr.

He is survived by his wife Dora; son Mark and wife Kathy; daughter Melissa and husband Carl Haduck; granddaughter Erica and husband Shawn Prosser, grandson Andy and wife Crystal Reed, and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers Clifford of Martinsville, Virginia; Charles of Fries, Virginia; brother-in-law J.D. Carr of Galax, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

He drove a truck for Roadway Express for 25 years and was a member of Alpha Baptist Church.

The family will be receiving friends at Vaughan Guynn Funeral Home on January 28, 2024, from 1-2PM, with a service to follow at 2pm with Pastor Lee Thomas officiating.  A private graveside interment for the family will be held at Mount Hope Church Cemetery.
