James W. Redd's Obituary
James W. Redd age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Redd was born in Grayson County, Virginia on August 30, 1932 to Emmett and Hursie Robinson Redd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Sherry Jo Redd.
He is survived by his wife Frances Redd of Galax, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law Connie and Terry Vaughan of Woodlawn, Va.; Bonnie and Dallas Bowers of Galax, Va.; Barbara and Greg Wilson of Fries, Va.; son and fiancee' James Randy Redd and Brenda Dodson of Yadkenville, N.C.; brothers Jack Redd and Mitchell Redd both of Galax, Va; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; uncle Heath Redd and aunt Marie Hayes.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Cliffview Church of God with Pastor Ron Hill, Rev. Jay Fields, Rev. Terry Vaughan and Randy Redd officiating. Burial will follow in McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Cliffview Church of God.
