James Edward Perry

James Edward Perry age 89 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday May 19, 2026 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Perry was born in Grayson County, Virginia on March 19, 1937 to Gene and Clara Mae Burris Perry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Denise Bond; grandson Kevin Lundy; sister Joyce Hines and brother Gayle Perry.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Danny Lundy of Woodlawn, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Shelia Perry of Fries, Virginia; Ricky and Sharon Perry of Hillsville, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Bonnie Sue Noblett of Fries, Virginia; Brenda and Allen Campbell of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Josephine Perry of Galax, Virginia; son-in-law Ronnie Bond; six grandchildren Nikki Shupe (Scott); Crystal Hawks (Phil); Holly Williams (Daniel); Jared Perry (Laura); Chanson Bond (Rebecca) Chad Bond (Stephanie); thirteen great-grandchildren Breanna Shupe; Blake Shupe; Branson France; Creed Hawks; Roman Williams; Jade Williams; Zayden Williams; Kiera Williams; Scarlett Williams; Kaisley Williams; Christian Bond; Jaxson Bond and Jace Bond; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Brother Max Combs officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
