James Franklin McCormick, Jr.  age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday July 19, 2023 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. McCormick was born in Grayson County, Virginia on December 19, 1940, to James Franklin and Gladys Byrd McCormick, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Chris McCormick.

He is survived by his wife Ann McCormick of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Bill and Denise McCormick of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter-in-law Angel McCormick of Radford, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Junior Swink of North Carolina; four grandchildren Haley; ;Mallory; Kendall and Scott; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Fries Cemetery with Tim Utt officiating. There will be no visitation. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726.
