James Franklin Leonard, 85, of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 in the Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Leonard was born May 20, 1929 in Grayson County to the late Dewey Dewight Leonard and Grace Melton Leonard.

He is survived by nieces,nephew and their spouses: Debbie and David Menadier of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Anita and Cary Weatherly of Chesapeake, Virginia; Timothy and Patty Leonard of Palm Beach, Florida; Teresa and Gary Kirkland of Richmond, Virginia; and great nephews Dylan Weatherly and Grey Leonard.

The memorial service will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Leonard Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Lee Houston officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
