Rev. James Wesley Lawson, Sr. age 85 of Woodlawn Virginia passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.
Rev. Lawson was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 8, 1928 to John Wesley and Lula Mae Phillips Lawson.
He is survived by his wife Linda Faye Lawson of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughter Deborah Boyd of Quinton, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Wes & Creta Lawson of Quinton, Virginia; Terry Lawson of Palm Bay, Florida; six grandchildren Tiffany Villa; Brandon Lawson, Jason Boyd, Justin Lawson, Courtney Lawson and Kristen Lawson; four great-grandchildren; step-son David Fred Roberts of Culpepper, Virginia; two step grandchildren; sister Hazel Percy of Chickasha, Oklahoma; brother Harold Lawson of Draper, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Cliffview Church of God with Pastor Ron Hill and Rev. Bruce Hagy officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Cranberry. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
