James Allan Jennings

James Allan Jennings age 72 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026 at his home.

James was born on April 25, 1954 in Galax, Virginia to James Ervin and Josie “Betty” Leonard Jennings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Jennings.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Heather Hill and Jason Alderman of Hillsville, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Joshua and Emily Jennings of Galax, Virginia; six grandchildren Torie Jennings; Grayson Jennings; Hadley Jennings; Holden Jennings; Hunter Hill and Caleb Hill; sisters and brothers-in-law Christal and Tracy Moore of Dugspur, Virginia; Sherri and Reggie Gibson of Woodlawn, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Chaplain Darren Lambert officiating . Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 PM until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
