James Jackie Alley age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Jackie was born on July 22, 1938 in Wythe County, Virginia to Robert Roscoe and Eva Lois Jackson Alley.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters-in-law Drayton and Ernestine Allely; Russell Alley; Lee and Lavelle Alley; two sisters and brothers-in-law Betty Lou and Rodney Creger; Charlene and Kenneth Brooks.

He is survived by his wife Elma Lineberry Alley; two daughters and sons-in-law Sarah and Charles Byrd; Shelia and Donnie Ramey;grandchildren and spouse Tyler and Amber Byrd; Ryan Byrd; Morgan, Logan and Jordan Ramey; bonus daughter and husband Kelly and Jeff Fox; bonus granddaughter Hadley Parks; sister and brother-in-law Margie and Harlan Lawson; sister-in-law Janie Alley; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Locust Grove Church of Christ with Craig Embree and Guy Russell, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Locust Grove Church of Christ.
