James Eli Isom's Obituary
James Eli Isom age 71 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 in the VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.
James was born on January 23, 1945 in Carroll County, Virginia to Walter Homer and Monrova Leath Isom. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Clifton Isom.
He proudly served his country in the US Air Force.
He is survived by his wife Peggy P. Isom of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughter Cynthia Isom Roberts of Woodlawn, Virginia; granddaughter Brooke Louann Cole of Woodlawn, Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law Donna and Clayton Byrd of Galax, Virginia; Frances and Larry Jones of Florence, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Darry Campbell and the Rev. Terri Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the Bishops Chapel Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
